CCE: WELCOME CHANGES

We are very happy to adopt the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation programme of the CBSE. It has brought out a major and a welcome change in the assessment of classes I to X. Gone will be role learning and memorization that is to be replaced by emphasis on thinking skills and the continuous growth of students.CCE focuses on the holistic assessment of a learner which includes both scholastic and co-scholastic areas of learner growth with particular reference to attributes such as life skills, attitudes and values, sports and games as well as co-curricular activities.

It means interactive teaching, regularity of assessment, frequency of unit testing, diagnosis of learning gaps, use of corrective measures, retesting and feedback of evidence to teachers and students for their self evaluation. Many Non pen paper and pen paper tests will be conducted while doing the chapter which is diagnostic and remedial in nature.

Four Formative Assessments will be conducted, two per term and two Summative Assessments will be conducted, one per term. The FA-1 and FA-3 are pen paper tests. The FA-2 and FA-4 are Inter disciplinary projects done in groups under the supervision of teachers. Apart from scholastic subjects more significance is given to co-scholastic subjects like PE, Yoga, Life Skills, Attitudes and Values, Performing Arts, Work Experience, Health, Environmental and Heritage clubs etc.
